Next month I’m participating in a physical activity challenge called the Million Mile Month, and you should too! I’ve been working toward being more active and improving my health these past couple months. Next month, I’m really looking forward to participating in the Million Mile Month in hopes it’ll keep me motivated this spring! Are you looking for an excuse to start being more active? If you’ve never heard of the Million Mile Month (MMM), let me catch you up. Every April HealthCode (a 501c3 nonprofit) holds a challenge to complete one million miles of physical activity, together as one global community. The idea is to help you and your families become healthier this spring! And any activity counts! From walking, running, biking, hiking, swimming, Zumba, weight lifting, yoga and many, many more! Sync your Fitbit, Map My Fitness account, or other fitness devices, or track your activities manually. Set your own goal and focus on achieving it by the end of April! Work with your community or organization to make your way to the top of the leaderboard.

My favorite part? It’s FREE to participate! There are several options for donating as well. All proceeds from this event support HealthCode, a nonprofit with  the mission to empower people to live healthier lives, free from preventable diseases!

If you’re interested in signing up, make your way over to from any device to register today! Here’s how:

  1. Visit
  2. Scroll to the bottom section of the page where it says “REGISTER HERE.”
  3. Go to the BRONZE category and enter “$0.00” if you want to participate for FREE.
    You can also pick another donation tier, or donate a custom amount in the Bronze category.
    After choosing your donation amount, click “SELECT.”
  4. The next screen will bring you to “NEW REGISTRANTS.”
    You will need to create a login password and enter your address.
  5. On the Edit Profile page, select your organization and group from the “Select Your Organization” and “Select Your Group/Team” pull-downs [optional].
    Want to sign up your organization to participate? You can do so for FREE, here!
  6. Make sure all other required blanks are completed and click “Complete Registration.”

You’re now registered and will be able to view your personal profile. Be sure to encourage your friends, coworkers, and family to sign up as well!

so what now?

Starting April 1, visit from any device and log your physical activities in your profile. Check out the public leaderboards to see the overall community’s progress. By clicking on “My Organization” in your private Profile Page, you’ll see your Organization’s Private Leaderboard which will include your total calories burned, miles and minutes of activity.
